January 2010 January 9-February 20, 2010 The Essence of Maui Schaefer International Gallery, Kahului A group of artists from the Maui community were invited to determine what the physical, spiritual, cultural or social essence of Maui is to them and to create one unique piece to show their touchstone. This promises to be an intriguing exhibit with visual depth, personal meaning, and shared interest. January 14-February 16, 2010 A Celebration of Hawai‘i Viewpoints Gallery, Makawao Presenting works by Hawai‘i’s premier artists, this exhibit offers a rare opportunity to become immersed in the culture, the people, and the heart of the Islands. The highlight will be a special showing of some of Hawai‘i’s best kapa makers. Throughout the exhibit, demonstrations and workshops on subjects related to Hawaiian culture will be offered. |

April 11-25, 2010 Celebrating The Artist In Us Schaefer International Gallery, Kahului This annual student exhibit gives Maui youth an opportunity to show their work in a world-class gallery, and it gives the community a chance to see what is on the minds of our youth. This year, Maui students from grades K-8 are architects of imaginary neighborhoods, creating both two- and three-dimensional environments with fantasy houses. |
